Footsteps in the brush... Praise the Divines it's you...

Leave me be. You have made your choice, Awakener. And I have made mine.

The Divines might forgive your sins, but the Havens remember...
-
Traitor... May your lot be cast in the depths of our Sacred Lagoon.

Oremheb Anodyne
Oremheb Anodyne is a character developed for the speculative cyberpunk world of The New Kingdom. Players encounter him in the futuristic city, New Memphis, where he serves as a respected aristocrat. Secretive, sharp-witted, and impatient, he spares his time for no one—especially not fools.

Context: Greeting the player in public.
-
You again. We must stop meeting like this.
-
Lower your voice, damn fool. You'll get us pinched.
-
Oh what is it, now?
-
Can't you see I'm busy?
-
Ugh. Just when I was starting to like you...
-
[Sighs.] You know, I've got a reputation to uphold.

Context: Opening his item shop menu for the player.

For everything, a price.
-
A little bit of everywhere, in the palm of your hand.

Quality... eh... not guaranteed.

No window shopping. Time is money.

Oh if you must. Take a look.
-
Keep your hands in your pockets.

Context: When attacked by the player and provoked into combat.
-
Hmm. It seems a mosquito has bitten my neck. Perhaps you need a good swat.
-
Ugh. My mistake for assuming you were... civilized.
-
Back off! You'll ruin my coat.
-
The emperor was right: You can't trust anyone these days.
-
Poor creature. In a past life, I made mincemeat of louts like you.
-
Enough. I've grown tired of you.

Rakal the Dream Seeker
Rakal is a speculative character written as a creative exercise for FromSoftware's Bloodborne, drawing from the game's lore. Players would encounter Rakal mostly in the Hunter's Dream, with his quest eventually spilling into worlds beyond. Much of his quest is entangled with the boss Ludwig the Accursed from The Old Hunters DLC. After years of exploring the Hunter's Dream, this wandering Church Hunter has started to slip into madness... and beasthood...

Context: Greeting the player in the Hunter's Dream.
-
[Mumbling low.] Designs upon designs... kin of kos... [Sees the player.] Ah... oh! Didn't see you there.
-
Ludwig... The Dream will spare you...
-
Endless Hunters... Endless dreaming... You... What do you want?
-
Hunter, you've intruded upon a sacred matter. Touch the lantern... awaken... before it's too late.
-
[Lets out a werewolve's snarl.] Oh... Forgive me, Hunter... My mind was elsewhere...
-
Beware, Hunter. The nightmare draws close...

Context: Greeting the player in the Hunter's Nightmare once they have fought (but not killed) Ludwig the Accursed.
-
Blood of Ludwig... I see you have met my gnarled compatriot... [Laughs.]
-
The glint in your eye... You've seen him. Haven't you?
-
Send Ludwig my greetings... if it's not too late.
-
Forgive him—Ludwig—for he was once great.
-
You have not found Ludwig, Hunter... he has found you.
-
Handle my master with care, Hunter—for the moon simmers within him.

Context: Greeting the player outside Ludwig's throne room if they have killed Ludwig and claimed the Moonlight Greatsword.
-
[Sniffs around.] That smell... the awful smell... what did you do?
-
Be careful with the master's sword, Hunter... It is not yours.
-
Visiting travesty... the nightmare has met its undoing...
-
As Lord Ludwig is brought to the altar, so am I...
-
He's gone... I can feel it now... vermin in the veins...
-
You fool... The master is merely asleep... for we are all sleeping...
